El River de Gallardo se quedó con la serie ante Cerro Porteño y consiguió su tercera clasificación consecutiva a las semifinales de la CONMEBOL LIBERTADORES. El equipo del Muñeco además ganó 22 de los 25 mano a mano en torneos internacionales.
El elenco de Marcelo Gallardo sigue haciendo historia. Cambian los nombres, las caras y hasta las fisonomías de sus equipos, pero River siempre está ahí. Entre los mejores. Y va por mucho más.
Con el triunfo de esta noche ante Cerro Porteño, el Muñeco volvió a dejar en claro que este presente del millonario está lejos de ser una casualidad. Los números son bastante elocuentes: River llegó a las semifinales de la Copa Libertadores en las últimas tres competencias. Y si tomamos todo el ciclo Gallardo, se metió entre los cuatro mejores del certamen en cuatro de sus cinco participaciones. Una animalada.
